Tips for Selling Your Home

bullet Make sure the entrance of your home is appealing, particularly the front door, as this is the first impression of your property.  Keep lawn and shrubs well maintained.
bullet Consider painting the house before showing it -- inside and outside.  This is a very cost effective improvement and probably the most important.
bullet Let the sun shine in!  Open the draperies and curtains and let your buyer see how cheerful your home can be.
bullet Keep the closets clean.  Well ordered closets appear to be spacious closets.
bullet Having an attic, a garage or a basement is a big plus.  Their contents should be well organized to show maximum space.
bullet Clean bathrooms sell homes.  Check and repair the caulking the bathtub and shower areas.  Make this room sparkle!
bullet Lubricate sticking doors, windows and drawers.  Fix loose door knobs and leaky faucets.
bullet When showing your home, try not to have any distractions or loud noise with regard to pets, radios or televisions.
bullet A reminder -- children can also be a distraction to some potential buyers.
bullet When your local MLS or Realtor takes a photo of your home for the listing, be sure to have garage doors closed, extra cars removed from the driveway and trash containers not at the curb.
